Laura Romney, Balanced Body Master Instructor, has been teaching Pilates since 2006. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, where it was very easy to be active. She started gymnastics at a young age and progressed to competitive softball, and then continued to excel in track and field. Her love of all things physical led to an easy decision to major in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Utah.
She moved to New Orleans in 2006 and absolutely fell in love with the city. Laura pursued a certification in Pilates through the PhysicalMind Institute and became a Master Instructor through Balanced Body in 2014, after only nine years teaching! She considers it an honor to be included in the Balanced Body family and is continuously inspired and amazed by her peers in the Pilates community. Laura is on a relentless pursuit of new information and looks forward to bringing that to her clients, classes, and workshops every. single. day!
Outside of the studio, you may run into her on one of her daily walks through Audubon Park with her two dogs and pot-bellied pig in tow. You’re equally as likely to run into her in some various stage of costume, reveling in the magic of New Orleans or enjoying the newest restaurant in the neighborhood.
